Supporting Neurodegenerative Diseases Research
Neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and multiple sclerosis, affect over one billion people globally, significantly impacting the quality of life and burdening healthcare systems worldwide.
Alzheimer’s alone affects more than 50 million people1, making it the most common neurodegenerative condition, while Parkinson’s affects over 10 million people globally.
Sampled supports this critical research by providing a range of specialized services. Through their Global Integrated Analytical Biorepository, Sampled offers efficient sample storage and retrieval of biological samples, high-throughput genomic and transcriptomic analyses, and next-generation sequencing. These services enable researchers to uncover genetic mutations, identify biomarkers, and monitor genomic changes, thereby enhancing the precision and efficiency of neurodegenerative disease research. Through the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) we are also the sole provider of their stem cell and induced pluripotent stem cell bank. This extensive collection of cells come from a large population of donors including men, women and children of all wide and diverse range of backgrounds. The repository of biomaterials is not restricted to researchers based in the US and can be requested by small academic groups through to large biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.
