PBMC isolation uses density gradient centrifugation to separate PBMCs from whole blood. Essential for numerous applications, it can be time-consuming and prone to error. Plasma isolation is a component of PBMC isolation and provides high-quality plasma that can be used for biomarker discovery.
Our logistics team can arrange blood shipments and handle any issues, or clients can organize their own shipping. Whole blood samples are processed immediately upon receipt to preserve sample integrity, while barcoded labels provide full traceability. Experienced cell biologists isolate PBMCs from whole blood using established density gradient centrifugation protocols. PBMCs are produced with an exceptionally high success rate. High-quality, viable PBMCs are preserved through our cell banking service, ensuring availability for customers. They can be further processed for DNA, RNA, or protein samples suitable for multiomics services, or returned to clients for in-house use.
Lymphoblastoid cell lines (LCL) Generation & Expansion
Sampled can also generate immortalized LCLs from whole blood or preserved lymphocytes. Following PBMC isolation from whole blood samples, cells are transformed with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) to generate immortalized LCLs, which can be expanded and stored for later thawing as and when the customer requires.
At Sampled, our LCL generation and expansion service begins with custom sample collection kits, ensuring secure and efficient sample receipt. Upon receipt, samples are immediately processed. Our cell biologists isolate PBMCs from whole blood using established protocols, followed by transformation with EBV, boasting a 99% success rate in LCL production within 1-3 months. Rigorous quality control, including viability and sterility testing, is performed to ensure successful transformation and suitability for expansion. The generated high-quality, immortalized LCLs are expanded, frozen, and stored, ready for distribution to customers as needed. These LCLs can be further processed into DNA, RNA, or protein samples for multiomics services or client analysis.
Fibroblast Generation & Expansion
At Sampled, we isolate fibroblasts from skin biopsies. iPSCs can be generated by inducing somatic cells like fibroblasts to revert to a stem cell state similar to embryonic cells. Fibroblasts can be expanded, stored, and shipped on demand. Though technically challenging, our proficient team ensures your sample is processed with precision, catering to diverse research needs.
Upon arrival, samples are enzymatically treated to break down skin tissue into individual cells. Fibroblasts are cultured and expanded, and a portion is frozen for future use. Clients can choose to receive fibroblasts or opt for iPSC generation performed by Sampled’s team of experts. Generated iPSCs are expanded, frozen, and stored, ready for client delivery. The workflow duration varies (usually 2-3 months) based on sample quality and age. If required, Sampled can also handle shipping and delivery.

What Are the Input Requirements for Cell Sample Processing?
