What is SampledSphere?

As a Global Integrated Analytical Biorepository, we offer secure sample storage software that is seamlessly integrated with our logistic, cellular, and multiomics services.

SampledSphere is a web-based platform that sits on top of our laboratory information management system (LIMS). LIMS contains all of our data, but which data is important and how it is required to be presented varies greatly from client to client. We wanted to integrate seamlessly with our clients’ platforms, giving them maximum freedom on how their data looks and feels. So we developed SampledSphere, an advanced, user-friendly sample storage platform that acts as a translator between LIMS and our clients.

SampledSphere translates the raw data from LIMS into any format that suits our client and their platforms. Because Sampled owns SampledSphere, we can customize it to any requirement that we or our clients want. We are not beholden to any third party to decide how we and our clients use SampledSphere.

Why use SampledSphere?

Streamlined Accessioning

Clients send us an electronic manifest that contains information on the samples they are sending. Our accessioning team enters the data into SampledSphere using the electronic manifest. This means the sample’s data is entered into SampleSphere before the sample arrives and we can use it to cross-check that we have received everything correctly.

Project Customization

We can store any kind of data to meet the requirements of our clients. This includes customized metadata that can be unique to an individual client. We can structure the look, feel, and format of the client interface in whatever way they want. This means that the client doesn’t need to do any formatting or data cleansing before integrating it back into their system, which saves time and streamlines data analysis.

Data Access and Exchange

At Sampled, our clients have full ownership of their data and they can view it on command via the SampledSphere portal. Information can be added automatically by clients and they don’t need to wait for us to send them data. They can see their data, perform searches, and download it when they want. Clients can request that samples be sent back to them via an integrated workflow, giving them full control.

Security

Here at Sampled, we are Title 21 CFR part 11 and HIPAA compliant and SampledSphere is enabled with single sign-on and multifactor authentication. This means your data is stored securely and only authenticated individuals will be able to access it. We acknowledge our clients’ full ownership of their data and will never distribute or sell it to a third party.

Input Requirements for SampledSphere

The input requirements for our sample storage software depend on the type of sample being processed. Here at Sampled, we work with species including, but not limited to human, mouse, rat, and process a variety of samples such as:

• Urine
• Semen
• Cell line samples/pellets
• Protein samples
• Isolated nucleic acids (DNA/RNA)

Data storage also includes any results data associated with the sample such as MicroArray results, sequencing data, and quality control results.
