Sampled offers a full range of semi- and fully automated biosample processing methods for various sample types for a large array of sample volumes. Our all-inclusive approach simplifies access to multiple services and allows researchers to maximize capabilities while maintaining cost and expediting results.
The laboratory personnel at Sampled are well-trained in IATA shipping regulations and exhibit proficiency in collection and transportation protocols. Sampled designed our standard operating procedures to reflect the guidance and best practices set forth by the International Society for Biobanking and Environmental Repositories (ISBER) and regulatory agencies.
Preparing specimens for either collection, processing, or distribution includes a registration process whereby an intuitive web-interface is used to either scan individual collection tubes or upload pre-configured files for larger collection events. The accessioned biosample receives a unique identifier (RFID tag or number) that corresponds to the sample throughout each destination along its lifespan.
This is to ensure the LIMS system can track the sample at each stop along the chain of custody while also providing a real-time glimpse of relevant preservation factors pertaining to the tagged biospecimen. Sampled embraces both semi- and fully automated technology systems, which minimizes costly errors and makes sample management more efficient.
Sampled considers the type of preparation the sample will coordinates a plan for rapid transit or on-site laboratory work. We then use a specific method of sample collection appropriate to the type of collection tube, vessel, or slide.
Utilizing a sample-workflow sheet, a careful flow of instructions is detailed for the specific care, handling, and distribution of each collected sample. This is where client customizations are also provided, and the samples undergo a qualification process to ensure their integrity before continuing onward with any downstream processes.
We also maintain close relationships with multiple couriers and monitor to ensure every package is delivered in a timely fashion. We offer multiple shipping formats; room temperature, dry ice, and LN2 shippers. Samples are stored in accordance with biomaterial and project specific conditions.
Sampled offers short- and long-term storage at:
- -80°C
- -20°C
- 4°C
- ambient temperatures
- liquid and vapor phase nitrogen.
Auditing procedures are then conducted to check that biospecimen information and storage locations align with database records. Storage vessels and conditions are routinely checked to ensure they have remained intact and are monitored by remote sensors, alarms, and an uninterruptible power supply.
Lastly, Sampled is prepared for any type of emergency malfunction and has a well-rehearsed plan of action in place should any type of blackout occur.
