Sample Storage
Sampled offers a range of sample storage services: from our high-capacity biorepository to our secure, user-friendly SampledSphere interface, we have the facilities and expertise to meet all your sample storage needs.
What Are Sampled’s Sample Storage Services?
Global Integrated Analytical Biorepository
Here at Sampled, we are proud to be the world’s only Global Integrated Analytical Biorepository: an organization for integrated solutions to streamline sample shipping, storage, bioanalytics, and reporting. Along with our logistics, multiomics, sample management, and cellular services, our robust sample storage capabilities represent a core pillar of how we support our clients in line with a wide variety of professional bodies from ISBER to ICH.
Our biorepository can house over 20 million samples from room temperature to -196°C and is trusted by institutions such as the National Institute of Health and the Department of Health and Human Services. Sample data storage is managed by our robust laboratory information management system (LIMS) and fully customizable sample visibility and tracking are available on our client-facing proprietary informatics system SampledSphere.
Biobanking Services
Biobanking Services at Sampled involve the comprehensive management of biological samples, including receiving, cataloging, storage at various temperatures, and data storage. Optimal biobanking is vital for clinical and longitudinal studies, and at Sampled, we are experienced in dealing with high-touch sample processing and security.
When a sample package arrives for biobanking, we conduct a meticulous inspection to identify damage, ensuring samples are handled in client-specified conditions. Visual checks verify sample integrity and data matching; discrepancies prompt immediate client contact. The sample undergoes accessioning, including barcode scanning, data recording, and quality checks. Then it is ready for further processing or storage.
ICH Stability Storage
This service, following International Council for Harmonisation guidelines (ICH Q1A), evaluates how environmental factors affect the stability of drugs or devices during storage. Outsourcing your ICH stability storage testing to Sampled not only ensures regulatory compliance and product safety but can also reduce costs.
We follow rigorous ICH Q1A guidelines, allowing clients to define critical parameters like storage conditions and retest times. ICH specifies five climatic zones, with testing typically in Zone II. Stability testing spans three time scales, providing cost-effective results. Additional services include reference and retain sample management and thermal cycling testing for reliable pharmaceutical development.
Photostability Testing
Adhering to ICH Q1B guidelines, this service assesses a drug’s stability when exposed to light, a critical step in product development and registration. Accurate testing is essential for regulatory alignment and consumer safety.
We conduct batch photostability testing with a focus on light source options. We generally utilize Option 2 for a faster turnaround with cool white fluorescent and near-ultraviolet lamps. Confirmatory studies ensure compliance with LUX-hour and ultraviolet energy requirements, utilizing calibrated UV and LUX sensors. A dark control sample aids in comparisons, with the exposure process lasting 5-14 days. Clients receive test and control samples along with experimental data, meeting rigorous regulatory standards.
Sample Data Storage
Sampled offers secure data storage for all sample-related information, including type, processing, data analysis, and chain of custody. Our integrated LIMS and SampledSphere systems ensure data integrity, accountability, and client-specific accessibility.
We initiate data storage upon sample arrival, entering all information into LIMS. SampledSphere, our adaptable interface layered on LIMS, enhances data retrieval and access, allowing clients to customize their data presentation. This ensures real-time data accessibility, streamlining analysis while upholding data integrity and security. Clients maintain control, creating a seamless and client-centric data management experience.
SampledSphere™
SampledSphere is a versatile web-based platform that interfaces with Sampled’s LIMS. It translates and customizes data formats according to the client’s needs, offering flexibility and control over data presentation without third-party dependencies.
Electronic manifests sent in Excel or similar formats enable data updates directly from clients. We seamlessly integrate these changes into our system, allowing clients to access them in their personalized SampledSphere portal. Our read-only SampledSphere accounts provide clients with complete control over their sample inventory and exports. Moreover, clients can request data removal post-project completion. Clients dictate data formatting and project-related metadata preferences, optimizing information retrieval efficiency. Lastly, results data, available in the clients’ chosen format, is promptly delivered by our expert bioinformaticians, ensuring the extraction of maximum value from the analysis.
