Sample Lifecycle Management
Registration, Retrieval, Destruction: The biorepository team at Sampled receive, store, and ship a wide variety of samples, offering you security and peace of mind for your samples. No matter the project or sample requirements, Sampled’s team ensures your samples are appropriately handled, their data is registered accurately, and that they can be easily retrieved and destroyed when required.
What is Sampled’s Sample Lifecycle Management Service?
Sampled’s sample lifecycle management service encompasses sample registration, retrieval, and on-request destruction.
The team at Sampled ensures that all samples are properly registered, handled, and tracked throughout our various storage, shipment, and downstream analytical pipelines. Our vast experience means that all samples are handled in an error-free and efficient manner, before securely storing them or sending them on for one of our many analytical services. Samples can be retrieved on request, and if required, we can safely and securely destroy any samples in line with any safety and security guidelines.
Why Use Sampled’s Sample Lifecycle Management Service?
Flexibility
At Sampled we give all the power to the clients surrounding what is done with their samples. Our team of highly responsive technicians can register, retrieve, or destroy any individual sample or batch of samples as and when a client requests, leaving you in full control of your samples at all times. Sampled’s team is ready to handle your samples at any level, whether it be individual samples, boxes, or even freezers!
Tailored Solutions
The sample lifecycle management service at Sampled goes beyond storage. We offer solutions to many research challenges.
- Do you have old, unreliable freezers? Save money on repairs by sending your samples to us. We offer freezers to rent!
- Lost track of what’s in a freezer? Sampled offers full freezer audits, where we take your freezer, organize it, and catalog everything so you don’t need to worry (or wonder).
- Sampled organizes couriers for inward and outward shipping so you don’t have to.
Security Controlled
Sample security is our priority. Your samples and associated data will only be made available to those to whom you give access. To ensure sample integrity, the team uses automated -20oC storage systems, such as Azenta’s BioStore instrument, to avoid sample thawing. The team also offers the service of taking a photo of each tube they receive to ensure client satisfaction with tracking. Sampled maintains strict record-keeping standards, including mandatory chain-of-custody documentation and destruction in line with the relevant regulations. This means you have all of the information on how, where, who, and why, so you are always updated on the status of your sample.
Expertise
Here at Sampled, we understand how precious samples can be. With Sampled’s team of experts, you can be confident that your samples are being handled appropriately, giving you the best start to your research journey with Sampled.
Sample Accessioning Applications
Every sample, box, or freezer sent to Sampled comes through the sample accessioning team first (and last!). With our vast experience, we have received, registered, and destroyed a huge variety of sample types to suit our customers’ needs.
- Sample registration
- Sample storage
- Sample retrieval
- Sample destruction
- Freezer audits
- Delivery stopgap
How Does Sampled’s Accessioning Service Work?
Sample Receipt
Upon arrival at Sampled, your box is immediately examined for signs of damage. Next, the box is opened, and the samples and tubes are inspected for damage or breakage. The client will be contacted immediately if there are any issues with the samples to discuss the best course of action.
Sample Registration
Next the samples are registered in Sampled’s laboratory information management system (LIMS) system using the sample manifest provided by the client. If the manifest is late or there is some other issue, the sample accessioning team at Sampled will manually generate a manifest to ensure your samples are processed as efficiently as possible. Data quality control is then performed to ensure that the barcodes, service, and client information all match. Registration and validation typically occur on the same day as receipt.
Further Processing
From here your sample is either sent for storage, where there is another round of quality check, or for immediate processing. In the case of urgent processing needs, the accessioning team will send a courtesy e-mail to ensure the appropriate technician knows that the sample has arrived, ensuring time-sensitive results are produced effectively.
Sample Retrieval
With our sample lifecycle management service, you are always in control of your samples. That’s why when you request sample retrieval, we will quickly and securely retrieve your chosen sample(s). From there, samples can be shipped back to you, sent for further analysis, shipped to a third party, or destroyed.
Sample Destruction
We also have the capacity to perform sample destruction. Whenever you no longer need or want your sample stored with us, request destruction, and we will destroy the relevant samples in line with the specific guidelines and regulations for the given sample type, so you don’t need to worry.
