Perform gene-expression analysis, genotyping, and copy number variation analysis on your sample with Sampled’s high-end qPCR service. Our team of experts uses Applied Biosystems technology to ensure you’re getting the very best qPCR service.
What Is qPCR?
Quantitative PCR (qPCR), also known as real-time qPCR (RT-qPCR), is a technique used to detect a specific sequence of DNA in a sample.
qPCR is a highly sensitive technique and can detect single-cell quantities of DNA. This technique is commonly used to determine relative levels of gene expression between samples by detecting levels of DNA reverse-transcribed from messenger RNA. It is also used to diagnose COVID-19 and to determine the absolute abundance of target DNA. qPCR has several advantages over conventional PCR. Firstly, it is typically a faster workflow using more advanced instrumentation.
Secondly, it allows for the detection of DNA abundance in real-time, giving greater insights into relative abundance than conventional PCR in which the abundance of DNA at a predetermined endpoint is assessed via gel electrophoresis. qPCR is a versatile and powerful tool in Sampled’s comprehensive multiomics arsenal. We adhere to the highest global standards for qPCR, such as the minimum information for publication of quantitative real-time PCR experiments (MIQE) guidelines. At Sampled, we offer the following qPCR services:
- Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) genotyping
- Gene expression analysis
- Copy number variation
Why Use Sampled’s qPCR Services?
High-End Automated Technology
At Sampled, we use only the best equipment for our qPCR studies. We have the QuantStudio 12K Flex Real-Time PCR System and QuantStudio 5 systems at our disposal for high-capacity and high-performance qPCR analysis. Thus, by trusting your qPCR needs to Sampled, you are using the best possible analytical platform for your samples.
Expertise
Our qPCR platform is run by a team of seasoned experts with vast experience in performing qPCR studies. qPCR can be a technically demanding process, especially when analyzing low-abundance transcripts. Sampled’s team has expertise in validating qPCR assays and protocols to ensure our clients get the best results possible from their samples.
Cost-Efficient
Instrumentation and reagents for qPCR can be expensive, not to mention the investment required for the maintenance and validation of equipment. By outsourcing to Sampled, our clients can avail of an expert-level service without incurring the extra costs associated with establishing and maintaining an in-house qPCR platform.
Customizable
By using qPCR, our clients can tailor transcriptomic analysis to their precise gene or gene set of interest. Full transcriptomic sequencing can be a costly and time-consuming analysis to perform and results in a huge amount of data that may go unused. By using Sampled’s qPCR services, our clients can analyze only the transcripts they are interested in, saving time and money.
Data Analysis Support
At Sampled, our team of experts offers full data analysis support for our qPCR services. Our team has vast experience performing and troubleshooting qPCR analysis to ensure you get results you can trust with quick turnaround times.

How Does qPCR Work?
Sample Processing
At Sampled, we work with DNA and RNA extracted from a diverse range of samples. Our robust logistics platform ensures that all samples are stored and transported at appropriate temperatures, and expert technicians extract nucleic acid. Before processing by our qPCR platform, all samples undergo stringent quality control to ensure they are suitable for analysis. We use only high-quality RNA and DNA for qPCR to ensure our clients are getting the best possible results.
Sample Preparation
We normalize RNA and DNA prior to analysis. Additionally, for RNA, we perform reverse transcription to produce cDNA for qPCR processing.
qPCR
We can perform qPCR using various chemistries depending on the client’s requirements. We use the QuantStudio 12K Flex Real-Time PCR System and Quanstudio 5 systems from Applied Biosystems. Sampled’s qPCR platform can process plates in 96- and 384-well formats in automated and manual workflows. This ensures high throughput and enables samples to be run in parallel, which provides more reliable comparisons for analysis. Sampled’s qPCR services are:
- SNP genotyping
- Gene expression analysis
- Copy number variation
Data Analysis
After qPCR is performed, our team can send raw results to our clients for in-house analysis. Alternatively, our expert team can perform the analysis, ensuring that it meets the highest quality standards and produces results our clients can rely on. We use QuantStudio 5 and QuantStudio 12k Flex Software for analysis of qPCR, CNV, and single nucleotide polymorphism genotyping.
What Are the Input Requirements for qPCR?
Item | Type |
---|---|
Sample Types | High-quality DNA sourced from blood, serum, saliva, tissue biopsies, hair, nails, stool, urine, semen, cell line samples/pellets, buccal swabs, and environmental samples. We also work with pre-extracted DNA. |
Storage/Transport Conditions | Pre-extracted DNA should be transported at 4°C (or as close to the previous storage conditions as possible). RNA should be stored at -20°C and transported on dry ice. For information on other tissue types, please contact a member of our team. |
Input Requirements | Input depends on the application and abundance of target DNA. |
